From Nature's Pocket

'Intimate details from the Welsh landscape are captured in this selection of small works.

The insect’s viewpoint and saturated colours are used to create macro images of wild and cultivated flowers. Working in a realistic style, the colourful world of the average, nectar gathering insect is recreated in oil, examining the intimate details and combinations of textures and construction found in individual plants.

Megaliths and monoliths treated in a similar way; their hidden details and position within the landscape are observed from between and adjacent to the stones.

The characteristic solidity and simplicity of the megalithic form when observed on the horizon, is invoked through the use of their imposing profiles, in this series of carborundum prints.'
