‘Drifting Knots’ Land Art
Mon 21st May - Sun 10th June 2007
‘DRIFTING KNOTS’
‘Land Art evolves from a connection with nature. The feeling
for nature becomes important, the relation between self (the artist)
and nature.
I don't make what I see, I make what the vision makes me feel.
I use what nature creates!
In July 2002 I bought Land at Clegyr Boia (an old settlement)
near St Davids in Wales. I got an 'intimate, hands-on reading
of the Land' which resulted from sitting, watching and walking
the Land.
In January 2003 I planted the first trees on a 2.2 acres field,
to created Wild Transgression with the intention to go beyond
the rules of gardening and farming into nature. The Land Art of
Wild Transgression is an ongoing process, forever changing.
Drifting Knots shows photographs of Wild Transgression and my
wanders in nature. I connect the photos to found objects with
knots. As a part of the exhibition I will make a Drifting Knot
in the river at Nant y Coy.
All the Drifting Knots are made with the idea to hang them outside
close to nature (garden, patio, balcony or window).’
mAgdA – May 2007Special event on the 27th May 2007:
Meet mAgdA and contribute to her live creation of a Drifting Knot
in the river at Nant y Coy, by collecting stones and sticks from
Nant y Coy‘s nature trail and incorporate them in the Land
Art.
