Brief history before 2000
I studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art in London, (as
a mature student), and in 1997 graduated with a B.A. in Ceramic
design. Prior to this I spent twenty years teaching in Secondary
Schools, mainly in London, and during these years did ceramics
at evening institutes.
I was a student at Lancaster University from 1966 to 1969 to obtain
a B.A. in Philosophy. (I also took mathematics and ancient Greek).
At the start of 1960 I went to Drama School in Birmingham, for
two years, and then worked in various Theatres until going to
University.
I was living in Hartlepool when I left school, at the age of fourteen,
to be sent to a local factory, and until 1960 worked as an engineering
apprentice and draughtsman. During these years I went to evening
classes and day-release and obtained an HNC and HND in mechanical
and structural engineering.
I was born in 1928 in Stockton on Tees. |
